Salah – The Second Pillar of Islam

Salah means prayer. It is the second pillar of Islam and one of the most important acts a Muslim does every day. Muslims pray five times a day to remember and connect with Allah.

Each prayer has a special time:

  • Fajr – before sunrise

  • Dhuhr – after midday

  • Asr – in the afternoon

  • Maghrib – just after sunset

  • Isha – at night

Salah helps Muslims stay close to Allah, be grateful, and ask for help or forgiveness. It also teaches discipline, peace, and respect.

Before praying, Muslims perform wudu (washing) to be clean. They face the Ka’bah in Makkah and pray in a calm, respectful way.

Salah is not just a set of movements – it’s a special time to speak to Allah, with our hearts and minds.
